Scarlett very first performing debut was to play 'Sophistry' in 1993, an off-Broadway play. In this Playwright Horizons stage, she was performing together with Ethan Hawke. After starred in several movies and gained a nomination for an independent movie, Manny and Lo (1997), she gained international recognition through Robert Redford's movie, "The Horse Whisperer" (1998). Her name got real buzzed by Sofia Coppola's movie, Lost in Translation (2003), which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. She acted as a lonely newlywed who stayed in Japan and had a relationship with an American actor (played by Bill Murray). Good scripts then were pouring into her like autumn leaves. She was cast as Griet in "Girl with a Pearl Earring" (2003) and starred in "A Love Song for Bobby Long" (2004) played with John Travolta. In those two movies, she earned Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress in Drama. Also in Woody Allen's "Match Point" (2005), she earned a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress.
For her love relationship, there are some boys' names such as Faiz Ahmad, Benicio Del Toro, Jared Leto and Josh Hartnett. Scarlett met Josh during the production of The Black Dahlia and they started their relationship in Nov 2006, but were rumored to be breaking up again by 2007.
