Isabel Lucas "The hot Decepticons"

Biography

Isabel Lucas was born on January 29, 1985, in Melbourne, Australia to a Swiss mother and an Australian father. She grew up in Cairns and went on to attend St. Monica's High School.

After enrolling at the Victoria College of Arts, Isabel Lucas was discovered by a theater agent who got her an audition for Home and Away, an Australian soap opera. Since producers didn’t feel the role for which she tried out was right for her, they created an entirely new character for the budding actress and Isabel Lucas found herself with her first television role.

From 2004 to 2006, Isabel Lucas played the role of Tasha Andrews in the hit show Home and Away. Shortly after wrapping up her part with the drama, Isabel Lucas, along with fellow protesters like actress Hayden Panettiere, traveled to visit a pod of dolphins off the coast of Japan in protest of dolphin killing practices taking place there.

After a brief hiatus from acting, the Aussie beaut returned in 2008 with the movie Daybreakers, costarring Ethan Hawke. Meanwhile, she was busy working on her 2009 flick, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, as well as her on role in the TV miniseries The Pacific.

This blonde Aussie has an exotic edge to her beauty, and the fact that she’s going to be in a kick-ass flick like Transformers makes her even more desirable. She hasn't made any lad mags' lists (yet), but we're sure after her blockbuster role she'll be raising a few more eyebrows.

Television

Lucas enrolled in the Victorian College of Arts but had never pursued commercial roles until she was spotted at the Port Douglas market by Sharron Meissner, a Sydney theatrical agent. She auditioned for the role of Kit Hunter in Home and Away (now played by Amy Mizzi); although the producer of the show, Julie McGauran, felt that role was not right for Isabel, she was sufficiently impressed to have a new character, Tasha Andrews, created for her. Lucas won a Logie Award (for new popular talent) for her performance on the program. Playing Tasha Andrews on Home and Away was Lucas' first television role. She also appeared in an American television commercial for Crest toothpaste.

Film

Lucas is currently working on her film debut, the upcoming vampire thriller Daybreakers, set for release in January 2010 and starring Ethan Hawke.

Lucas has been cast as Gwen in the Steven Spielberg World War II miniseries, The Pacific. She also appeared in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen as a Decepticon Pretender, Alice. In a recent article, Lucas refused to speculate on her latest casting. Reports have suggested that although assigned to the William Morris Talent Agency in Los Angeles through the auspices of Meissner Management, Lucas obtained the role of Alice in her native Australia before moving permanently to America. It has been claimed that Lucas was handpicked by Steven Spielberg. However, Michael Bay, director and producer of Transformers, has denied that Spielberg influenced the decision to cast her.

Personal life

Lucas was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. As a child, Lucas lived in Cairns, in Far North Queensland. She also had stints in Switzerland, Kakadu, and Australia's Northern Territory. She has a Swiss mother and an Australian father and speaks German in addition to her native English. Lucas went to a high school named St. Monicas in Cairns, Australia.

Lucas dated her former Home & Away co-star Chris Hemsworth until June 2006. She dated American actor Adrian Grenier during 2008, but they split up in August. She suffered a minor head injury in July 2008 in a car accident while she was a passenger in Transformers co-star Shia LaBeouf's car. She was not seriously injured, but he was cited with a misdemeanour DUI.
