Although a new nose and a boob job has the slim, blond, 5’ 3” reality TV star looking especially good, and although there is no denying her beauty, a couple issues cut into her sex appeal ever-so-slightly.

One is the controlling, wanna-be Hollywood power-broker boyfriend, and the other is that she is just plain… well, let’s just say she doesn’t come off as especially bright, on The Hills or, especially, in interviews. Ultimately, she seems to do her best work when she can’t be heard, namely in print as a model (when she has the ability to look like a real model -- not a fashion model like Adriana Lima, but definitely a glamour model).



Her friendship with Laguna Beach star Lauren Conrad landed Heidi Montag on that show’s spin off, The Hills, and she’s been busy trying to make the most of her newfound celebrity. She teamed up with fiance Spencer Pratt to become one of Hollywood’s hottest, most despised and most lucrative couples, parlaying her increasing fame into a movie and music career.

Heidi Montag was born on September 15, 1986, to restaurant owners in Crested Butte, Colorado, the second of three children. Out of high school, she says she studied fashion in Italy for a year before moving to San Francisco to attend the Academy of Art. It was a fateful decision, since it was there where she met Lauren Conrad. Neither would finish at the Academy; rather, they both moved south to L.A. to attend the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and moved into an apartment together.

In 2005, Heidi Montag dropped out of the Institute, claiming it wasn’t sufficiently challenging, to take an internship with Bolthouse Productions. The internship ultimately led to a position as an event planner with the company.

Her association with Lauren Conrad landed Heidi Montag on a few episodes of Laguna Beach, but it was the developing friendship between the two that landed her a featured role on that show’s spin off, The Hills, which premiered at the end of May 2006.

From there, her profile mushroomed, thanks in large part to her developing relationship with The Hills costar Spencer Pratt and deterioration of her friendship with Lauren Conrad. The public explanation for her feud with Lauren Conrad is too banal to be believed, and it has kept them both on the front pages of gossip magazines and websites for well over a year. Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have also become the young Hollywood power couple people love to hate.

Using her fame from The Hills, Heidi Montag launched a would-be music career, releasing four tracks since February 2007. Although she claimed to be under contract with Warner Bros. to record a full album, she had chosen, along with Spencer Pratt’s production help, to self-release the tracks through both MySpace and iTunes instead.
Her first official single, “Higher,” was released in February 2008, and she followed it up a month later with her second single, “No More.”
